Aggreko North America is looking for local high school seniors to participate in its workforce partnership with Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee.
The two-year SelecTech Accelerated Career Program allows students to study for six 16-week trimesters and then return to New Iberia to receive on-the-job training and mentorship for eight weeks. The program will continue until students complete it and earn an associate degree in applied science.
Aggreko will provide a $1,000 scholarship per semester to students who participate.

Terry Dressel, works out of New Iberia and is Aggreko vice president of national operations, said he is looking for a number of students from Iberia Parish and the surrounding areas.
“This is a great program, and we want to choose a number of students from the Teche Area to participate,” he said.
Dressel said the program is intended to set the table for technical resources for North American business.
“This program will provide students with the most up to date training to diagnose, service and maintain equipment and will enable graduates to more easily advance in position after additional experience,” he said. “Aggreko works with three primary product lines- power, temperature control and oil free compressed air. Our technicians are diesel mechanics and HVAC technicians. They primarily work on generators, compressors, chillers, and air-conditioners.”
This is the company’s first training program and 20 students will be selected from across the country to participate in it.
Students must be at least 18-years-old to participate.
