Aug. 22, 2008: Emerson Refrigeration System Measurement Webinar Now Available Online
Emerson Climate Technologies
2008-08-22

ST. LOUIS — Emerson Climate Technologies announced that its recent refrigeration industry Webinar, “Accurately Measuring How Your Refrigeration System Operates,” is now available on the company’s Website. The Webinar examines what Emerson says is a new, more accurate method of refrigeration system efficiency measurement.

This latest Webinar addresses existing methods for measuring the efficiency of refrigeration systems and also introduces a new method, Annual Energy Efficiency Ratio (AEER), which is said to more precisely measure how a refrigeration system operates. The Webinar provides an overview of the calculation formula for AEER, used specifically in refrigeration applications. It covers AEER’s use of the BIN analysis concept for a measure that is more closely linked to actual energy savings based on ambient temperature.

“Emerson Climate Technologies is always looking for innovative ways to guide the industry, ensuring that energy efficiency and savings are captured accurately and effectively,” said Jim Mozer, vice president of marketing, Emerson Climate Technologies refrigeration division. “With detailed explanations of the AEER method and how it is utilized, this Webinar provides our refrigeration customers with new, forward-thinking information that can then be implemented in the field to ensure more accurate and reliable efficiency measurement.”

The 18-minute Webinar is presented by Rajan Rajendran, director of applications engineering for Emerson Climate Technologies refrigeration division. Rajendran has nearly 20 years of experience in research, development, and application of compressor products in refrigeration. He also serves on committees with the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) and American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

The Webinar is available online as an audio podcast. Those interested in downloading the podcast, the Webinar slides, or an AEER white paper, should visit www.emersonclimate.com/aeer_webinar.htm.
