The design centre, located in Ascendas IT Park, will initially focus on controls embedded and application software engineering skills. "Chennai is the ideal place for us to expand our presence with a design centre because of the city's strength in software development and human capital," said Prakash Bedapudi, vice president, global engineering & technology for Trane.
"Being located in a region with a large supply of engineering talent, the centre can help accelerate new feature additions to existing products and reduce the time needed for new product introductions. In addition, it can help the company rapidly adapt its products to the demands of the dynamic and fast growing emerging markets," continued Prakash.
By playing a key enabler role for the company's growth in the region as well as globally, the centre will contribute toward improving area customers' overall product and service experience.
