Danfoss marks 75th Anniversary with year-round celebrations

2008-10-23

Founded in 1933 by engineer Mads Clausen, Danfoss is rapidly expanding its presence in North America and abroad. A global leader in the research, development and production of mechanical and electronic components and systems, the company celebrates its 75th anniversary this year and is marking the milestone with a series of employee celebrations in North America and abroad.

“We’re extremely proud of our heritage and excited about the company’s future,” said Robert Wilkins, president of Danfoss (U.S. and Canada). “From day one, Danfoss had a unique culture to build innovative products, while being environmentally and socially responsible. Such responsibility has always been a Danish cultural phenomenon – one that persists in Danfoss to this day.” Wilkins noted that in this decade Danfoss has enjoyed global sales growth of about 9 percent per year – and a significantly higher rate in North America. Worldwide, the company has 70 factories in 25 countries, 114 sales offices, and 22,500 employees.

According to the company’s press release, Danfoss’ technologies improve the quality of life for people all over the world; these technologies help provide vital commodities such as clean water, heating and cooling. Benefits include energy savings, environmental improvement and comfort, increased productivity and food preservation. “The breadth and depth of products and components are our strength,” Wilkins said. “We can truly provide solutions to meet any comfort challenges. In fact, these solutions are more critical than ever before – given the increased focus on the environment, conservation and the responsible use of natural resources.”
